Day 6 is done with 21 heat swims and 7 swimmers progressing through to the night time finals. It has been a big week for the team, but everyone turned up with energy ready to give it their best.
Swim of the day....
..... goes to Emma Ng in the Girls 13 years 200m Butterfly winning the bronze medal - her first medal for the meet. Emma’s time of 2:23.13 was 2.57 second pb. It was great to see Emma back up her bronze medal performance from the 2024 Australian Age Champs.
Great job Emma!
Harrison Tancred was back for another final, this time the Boys 16 years 100m Breaststroke.
Harri’s time of 1:05.52 saw him claim the Gold medal.
Heading out in a very quick first 50, Harri did well to hold off the boys on the way back and claim his first Gold medal at this meet.
Fantastic job Harri!
Carlile had two other big 200 fly performances in tonight's finals.
First up Taj Kingston was in the Boys 16 years where his time of 2:07.24 was a 3.16 second PB. He finished 6th place and also qualified for his first Australian World Championship Trials.
Then in the Girls 14 years Alexia Mantle dropped 1.36 seconds off her PB to finish 4th in a time of 2:26.79.
Both swimmers had an incredible second half of the race which saw them swimming over several people in the last 50m and moving up their rankings.
